Answer: Single Baby Boomers exploring the world of Internet dating.

Q: What is the book about?
A: Profileactics: A Guide for the Prevention of Ill-Conceived Personal Ads combines lessons in self-awareness and language with generous doses of wisdom and wit. The result is an invaluable tool for Baby Boomers exploring the world of Internet dating.

Hundreds of profile excerpts are used to demonstrate the often misguided efforts of Boomers looking for love. Some are hilarious, some sad and some are just strange, but all illustrate the power of words.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I am a psychotherapist in private practice for 25 years in Connecticut.

My first book, From Ex-Wife to Exceptional Life: A Woman’s Journey through Divorce won an honorable mention award from the Independent Publishers Association. It has helped thousands of women recover from divorce and find joy in their new lives.

When they began dating again, their stories of internet dating became the inspiration for this book. Profileactics assists the reader in developing a more discerning eye, not only about what not to write but also about whom not to date.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: The book focuses on the importance of an impeccably written profile. Potential suitors have literally thousands of choices. Without a good first impression there will be more rejection than connection. The book is informative and the material is approachable, upbeat and well-organized. It is a fun read!

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Profileactics will help single Baby Boomers craft a better profile and assist them in finding the love they want; it will challenge the reader to look more deeply into themselves—beyond childhood dreams and stereotypical expectations of gender and relationship. This self-reflection will result in a heightened self-awareness and a clearer picture of what they long for in a relationship.

Answer: Anyone interested in improving their ability to manage conflict and hold difficult conversations will benefit from reading Unlikely Teachers.

Q: What is the book about?
A: This book on Aikido and conflict is a practical tool to help the reader generate more power, presence, and flow in their relationships and in their life. Aikido is a martial art that views a physical attack as a gift of energy. Unlikely Teachers applies the Aikido metaphor to non-physical conflict—what we might call life’s “attacks”—such as arguments, everyday hassles, and the more serious problems we all face at some point in our lives.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I have been a writer, workshop leader, and black belt in Aikido for over 15 years and teach internationally on conflict transformation—the conversion of difficult challenges into useful energy.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: Unlikely Teachers is more than a “how-to” book. It offers personal stories, reflection, and direction on how to manage ourselves in difficult moments.

Q: Anything else we should know about this book?
A:One of my favorite things about Unlikely Teachers is its focus on practice. It offers simple, profound ways to begin to re-pattern responses to conflict that no longer work. Leadership author, Margaret Wheatley, endorsed the book saying:

This book is deliciously wise. It’s filled with stories that delight and teach in the same moment. And its wisdom, which is eternal, illuminates the path that leads us out of conflict and into deeper relationship with others and with ourselves.

Answer: All Men Are Cremated Equal: My 77 Blind Dates is written for men and women who are looking to find a mate. This book speaks to both sexes and relays an inside view on the workings of a marriage-minded female. All women looking for Mr. Right should read this book and learn how to avoid the dating pitfalls I went through to find Mr. Right.

Q: What is the book about?
A: I was freshly broken up with my fiancé, and wasn’t in the market for yet another dead end relationship. I made a list of the ten qualities I was looking for in a man and forwarded the list to my vast social network. I then ventured on 77 blind dates, letting friends act as matchmakers in the Portland and San Francisco Bay Area dating scene.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I only dating men who matched my list, and all date were blind dates. I mapped out a course, journaled every step and made it happen for myself.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: I take my readers along on the good dates (the sexy local candidate), the bad (the concert promoter who ended up bloodied), the utterly bizarre (the man who speaks in quotations), and the educational (the contractor who invites her along on a last-minute concrete pour). I chronicle the giddy anticipation of a first meeting, the sense of adventure as the night lingers on, and the challenge to remain optimistic when there were 55 dates down, and 22 more to go.

Throughout, I discuss my life in the funeral industry, from the workaday tasks, to the more unusual aspects of the business. My memoir describes how I balanced my social life (with the living) with my professional responsibilities (to the dead).

Q: Anything else we should know about this book?
A: I found true love! I stayed true to myself and true to course, and true love came along. I am happily married and off the dating roller-coaster.

Answer: Married and committed couples; people whose previous fighting has ruined relationships; and couples contemplating marriage and parenthood. Divorced people who want to figure out what went wrong, and make the next relationship better. Dating couples who want to get their relationship started on the right path.

Q: What is the book about?
A: Money, Sex and Kids are the big three conflicts that can erode even the strongest marriages. This prescriptive, practical guide shows partners how to deal with their differences in these critical areas and to resolve them before they take the toll on the relationship. As a licensed psychotherapist and marriage counselor in private practice, Dr. Tessina offers struggling couples a fresh look at what it means to be married — and what it takes to stay that way. Any willing pair can learn to build a happy relationship if they have the tools taught in this book.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I’m a California licensed marriage counselor in private practice with thirty years’ experience counseling couples, and teaching them how to make their marriage struggle-free. Because I help couples solve their problems every day in my private practice, I have real experience in what goes wrong and how to fix it.

I have also been divorced and then happily re-married for twenty-five years, so I have lived through the destruction of one marriage, and learned to create a happy second partnership. My personal experience informs my professional expertise.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: Because I’ve helped so many couples solve the problems and create loving marriages, my book provides real dialogs of married couples showing how they changed their interactions, guidelines and exercises which teach couples how to fix problems, and cogent explanations and information about what works and why it works. Throughout the book, you’ll follow couples as they struggle and learn to solve their disagreements. Couples can use the easy-to-follow guidelines and exercises to stop fighting and start having a good time together.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: If you’re having trouble with any of the ‘big three’ marriage issues; if you’ve already had the awful experience of a ruined relationship; or if you’re contemplating marriage and worried about struggling; Money, Sex and Kids will be your guidebook to success in your relationships. It offers you a fresh look at what it means to be happily married –and what it takes to stay that way. It’s all you need to defeat marital stress, cease the fighting, and build a peaceful, fulfilling life together.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: Some of the issues presented in this book came about because of my career as a social worker, helping abused children and young people overcome their tragic histories.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: I injected my own personal experiences into the story, transforming what might ordinarily be a simple chronicle of abuse into a tale of hope and redemption.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Some of the peripheral characters in this tale are repeated in some of my other books, such as Miles to Go. My first published novel, An Accidental Life, introduces the character of Savannah Chacon, a former teen parent, who has transcended that history to become a promising college student; incidentally, she shares the boarding house where Amber Cushing lands, like a wounded bird.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: Because I lived it. The story is loosely based on my time in Sacramento in the 70s, followed by years of “normal” life, with all that brought, including single parenthood and love issues. Also, I spent many years working in the child welfare system as a social worker, with some of these experiences featured in this book.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: It captures the radical politics of the seventies from the perspective of women, featuring the normal parenting issues against this backdrop of politics…And reveals how these experiences can help individuals transform themselves into fully functioning human beings.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: There are a few secrets within…like the artist who lived on a commune and lost her child to the child welfare system…And how, eventually, they were reunited.

Answer: This is an easy to read and apply self-help book. It is suitable for anyone experiencing problems in their relationships whether that is at home or at work. Stop Being Pushed around: A Practical Guide is a tool for people to utilize if they believe that they are stuck in a rut and who feel unable to move on and progress in their relationships. It is a down to earth, commonsense book which is void of jargon.

Q: What is the book about?
A: The book is about the role of victim and survivor in relationships.

A ‘victim’ is someone who believes they have no control of their life.
A ‘victim’ believes that he/she can do nothing right.
A ‘victim’ believes that no-one really cares for them.
A ‘victim’ is always negative.
A ‘victim’ is waiting for someone to rescue them.
A ‘victim’ puts pressure on their partner to make everything all-right for them.
A ‘victim’ opts out of life.
A ‘victim’ is fearful.
A ‘victim’ is insecure.
A ‘victim’ is usually depressed or anxious.
A ‘victim’ feels under constant threat of something bad happening.
A ‘victim’ sabotages positive thinking and behavior.
A ‘victim’ is distrustful.
A ‘victim’ waits for disasters to occur.
A ‘victim’ will have emotional problems.
A ‘victim’ may turn to drugs or alcohol as a means of escape.
A ‘victim’ will be isolated from friends and family.
A ‘victim’ will withdraw from real life.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I have lived my life as a victim for many years. I have learned ‘the hard way’ how to stop being a victim and transfer to being a survivor. It is an empowering journey of self discovery.

I have been a mental health professional for 25 years. For the first 15 years I was employed by the Social Services Department in the UK and for remaining 10 years I worked as a Counselor in the primary healthcare setting. I have counseled countless numbers of people, during this period, who have become victims in their relationships.

All of the people I counseled didn’t realize that they were victims and believed that they had no control over their lives. Progressing from victim to survivor requires hard work on the part of the victim. It is achievable and the rewards are great. You are no longer under the control of another person. You are free to think and be the way you really are deep down without experiencing the pressure of control from your partner.

To find out is you are a victim please answer these questions.

· Do you feel able to discuss issues in your relationship with your partner?
· Does your partner ridicule you, humiliate you?
· Does your partner ‘play up’ if you are invited out with friends?
· Does your partner hold the financial purse strings in your relationship?
· Do you tend to agree with your partner rather than face the aggressive outcome if you do not agree?
· Does your happiness in your relationship depend on your partner’s mood?
· Do you feel trapped in your relationship?
· Do you think that you should stay in the relationship because you believe you cannot cope alone?
· Are you afraid of your partner?

Here are some examples of positive responses a victim can choose to make on how to deal with living with someone who, you feel, is controlling you:

· Take control of you and your life.
· Don’t be afraid to show your feelings. Learn when it is appropriate to do this.
· Encourage open discussions, to enable you both to have a better understanding of each other’s point of view.
· Realise you are never going to get it right so stop trying.
· Be reasonable, flexible and fair in your responses – but know when enough is enough (you will know when this happens by the feeling in your gut that screams – stop).
· Treat yourself kindly.
· Acknowledge how much you have achieved.
· Don’t be afraid to recognise your needs, wants and desires – you have a right to them.
· Accept that you ‘can’t have it all’ but make sure you ‘get some.’
· Take charge of you and know that any change you want to achieve in your life is up to you.

Each page includes a single step for success illustrated by an insightful and funny cartoon. The steps include such important topics as being honest, building unity in spite of differences, and practicing partnership with home and parenting responsibilities. The cartoons guarantee you will laugh at the humorous aspects of every serious step. For example, a cartoon showing a husband discouraging his wife kissing him while reading a book about how to be more romantic demonstrates how to “be romantic with one another and increase intimacy between you…”.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I’m (Susanne M. Alexander) a relationship and marriage coach with a passion for educating people in unique ways about how to be successful. Humor is a great way to facilitate learning. Besides which, research shows that couples who have fun together are more likely to stay together!

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: This is the first relationship and marriage education cartoon book on the market.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Through this book, I want people who are not yet married to learn the steps for how to be successfully married. I also want married couples to enjoy the journey back through the marriage preparation stages as well as see what will enrich their marriages now. Humor helps people to lighten up and be open to seeing what there is to learn from the characters pictured. The cartoonists help people to see what is nuts about their lives and the lives of others and cues them to look at what to do differently. I hope that the humor in A Perfectly Funny Marriage opens the door to a willingness to learn more deeply what makes a relationship and marriage work well. A good cartoon is one that still makes you smile, laugh, and think, even when you have seen it before.

I used well-known and insightful cartoonists such as Randy Glasbergen and Dave “Speed Bump” Coverly, as well as new cartoonists. Scott Haltzman, MD, author of The Secrets of Happily Married Men and The Secrets of Happily Married Women, says, “This delightful book shows how the path to a splendid marriage can be both meaningful and fun! Every couple, from their first date to their 50th wedding anniversary, should have it close at hand.”

A Perfectly Funny Marriage is available through various bookstores. Answer: Women between the ages of 18-60 who are dating, especially those who are dating online.

Q: What is the book about?
A: If you are single, how do you spot a serious mate versus a player, a married person posing as a single or a cyber stalker online? Sex, Lies and the Internet is an online dating survival guide that shows women how to avoid being scammed, used and abused by men.

In order to find Mr. Right, you need to be able to recognize and avoid Mr. Wrong. This book will show women how to make better, safer and more informed decisions regarding the men in their lives.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I am the Internet’s leading expert on online dating and relationships. I am also a woman who used the internet to look for Mr. Right. In the process, I was scammed not just once, but multiple times by men who lie, cheat, abuse women and get away with it by hiding behind the false identities and phony online dating profiles.

Eventually I learned the secrets of how to identify Mr. Wrong on my way to finding Mr. Right, and more importantly how to avoid the abusers, scammers, cheaters and dangerous men who prey on single women in online dating websites. Most importantly, I learned why I found myself attracted over and over again to Mr. Wrong and how to recognize the RED FLAGS to avoid the cycle of abuse.

To help other women avoid these dangers, I started a website called http://www.WomanSavers.com, the “World’s Largest Database Rating Men,” where women can warn other women about the men to avoid. This eventually became one of the top women’s websites on the Internet where tens of thousands of women come to share their stories, to heal, and to warn other women before its too late.

WomanSavers.com is in the top 5% most popular women’s websites in the world, receiving millions of hits per month.

I have also polled over 300,000 women on dating and relationship issues, in addition to counseling thousands of women online.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: There are many books out there about dating but very few books on date screening. Sex, Lies and the Internet is filled full of real-life relationship experiences, including some of my own. It also has many custom, color cartoons which help keep the tone of the book light-hearted even though it addresses some serious and abusive issues.

Sex, Lies and the Internet does not only show women how to avoid abusive relationships, but also shows them how to get out of them.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: The internet can be the most dangerous place to unintentionally expose yourself to dangerous men who target, stalk, and abuse unsuspecting women, especially women who are hopeful, and emotionally vulnerable. This book is a must read for any women out there who are online dating and are concerned about their safety.

Single mothers should be especially concerned about screening their dates because pedophiles target them for access to their children. This book with teach you the sneaky tricks players and dangerous men use and don’t want you to know and how to see through their scams.
