Answer: This is a self-help book that caters to people who are interested in the Law of Attraction or are wanting to live a more positive life. It reaches both a business audience as well as a personal audience. Stories and examples make both reference to the corporate fast lane as well as the day to day rhythms of love and family life.

Q: What is the book about?
A: Paving It Forward teaches a very powerful method of conscious intention called Pre-Paving. All day we are intending, and what we intend, we create. When we are conscious of every thought, and choose that thought with conscious intention, we can create, at will, whatever we want and need.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: Through an intense study of eastern philosophy with the masters of India, I learned about the energy of thought and the power to create. I put the metaphysical teaching into practical action when serving for ten years as private assistant to a billionaire, traveling the globe and working alongside global business leaders.

Through this combined experience, I developed the technique I call Pre-Paving that can be used in all aspects of everyday life to reap success, peace and fulfillment. I used Pre-Paving to overcome great obstacles in love, life and health, and also used it to build my own dream company, RnR Wellness, that owns and operates a chain of successful Canadian wellness spas.

An excerpt from Paving It Forward:

“People spend more time choosing what they are going to wear in the morning than they do how they are going to connect with people, how they will feel or what they will accomplish. Pre-Paving is choosing how you want to look, live and feel every part of your day and every part of your life.” Elisabeth Fayt

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: Paving It Forward is a PRACTICAL how-to book on the Law of Attraction and other Universal Laws. It takes people from a place of THEORY and helps them walk the talk.

This book does not just inspire for the moment. Pre-Paving is a tangible tool that can be applied immediately, for instant results. Whoever reads Paving It Forward and learns how to Pre-Pave, will use Pre-Paving their entire lifetime. Once you realize that you are ceating your life, there’s no turning back.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Paving It Forward is not a book you read once, but often. Most people use it as a reference manual over and over again. They leave it by the bed or kitchen table to read a page a day, reminding them that success is a choice and can be Pre-Paved, one thought at a time.

The companion Pre-Pave Your Day card deck is also a great way to be reminded daily to choose your thoughts for what you want to create!

Answer: Those who are:
• Family members of those who are ill and bereaved individuals
• Healers: healthcare professionals, caregivers, volunteers, spiritual care providers, member of the clergy, social workers, etc.
• Individuals interested in overcoming their fears around death and the afterlife.
• Those interested in learning more about how to combine holistic approaches with end-of-life and grief care.
• Anyone interested in growing spiritually – spiritual seekers.

Q: What is the book about?
A: The Last Adventure of Life is an inspirational resource book that weaves together some of the best stories, poetry, scripture, prayers, and guided meditations that I have found to help those facing death or grief in their lives. It also includes chapters on grief and healing resources. This book also serves as an overview of hospice from a spiritual perspective; some have even said that it is one of the best introductions to hospice that they have ever read.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I am uniquely qualified to write this book because I grew up in Japan and am bilingual and bicultural. I was gifted with a broad, multi-cultural perspective and a curiosity about life that has made me delve into all kinds of material related to heath and healing through my professional and personal life.

After serving as a United Church of Christ minister for a decade, I served as a hospice spiritual and bereavement care provider for eleven years, so I developed a deep appreciation for hospice and how it can change your life. I have found that doing hospice counseling work for over a decade has given me an expanded view of life – not unlike a person who has had a near death experience. My work shares some of this material in a smorgasbord fashion.

As a healer, I am also passionate about wellness and have developed a body-mind-spirit perspective. Therefore, the last chapter of the book has a great deal of information on many of the complementary and integrative therapies such as: Aromatherapy, acupressure, acupuncture, massage, music, guided meditations, hypnotherapy, shamanism, and the like.

The material is presented in such a way as to be particularly helpful to those who are preparing to die or who are grieving. However, a person working toward their physical healing and wholeness could also benefit from reading my book.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: The Last Adventure of Life is a very comprehensive book. It covers a great deal of territory compared to most books on this topic. For example, it honors and shares material from many faith traditions and spiritual perspectives.

Most books covering hospice or these topics are either medically or religiously based. However, I share from a very broad spiritual base, so many faith perspectives are shared firsthand. Also, since there is a lengthy chapter introducing some complementary therapies at the end of the book, this also makes my book unique in its scope.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: The Celtic philosophy is that you need to die before you die so that when you die, you don’t need to die! In this vein, my book is actually meant to be a guide for someone who is ready to bring death back into their life.

Ideally, this book needs to be read by someone who is not directly facing death, but would like to deal with their fears and questions around it. Here is what Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, an expert in conscious aging had to say about my work: “Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross once had a patient who said to her ‘I want to live through my dying.”

Anyone who shares that sentiment will find The Last Adventure of Life a way to expand their consciousness and to prepare for that moment.”

Here is a list of Chapter titles from the book and some frequently asked questions that my book could help answer:

1.	TRUTH: Letting Go Is Liberating
2.	BEAUTY: The Divine Presence Within All Living Things
3.	LOVE: The Only Real Power
4.	JOY: Tuning in to Humor and Gratitude
5.	TRUST: Healing into Wholeness
6.	REFLECT: Life Review and Dealing with Unfinished Business
7.	AWARENESS: Cultivating the Art of Meditation
9.	SPIRITUAL PATH: Receiving Strength from Our Faith Traditions
10.	GRACE: The Transforming Power of Grief
11.	RESOURCES FOR HEALING

The book also has an annotated bibliography with 110 books in it (including books for caregivers), and many other resources like magazines and journals, music, videos, DVDs, and websites. Many of the websites can be found as links on my website as well: www.thelastadventureoflife.com, or www.changewithcourage.com. Also, I have developed some “gift baskets for the soul” related to some of the integrative therapies I suggest in the last chapter. You can see more about my Soul Baskets at www.soulbaskets.com.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I had a special dream when my husband died fourteen years ago and I researched the dream experience for ten years not finding anything on the topic. In 2007 I placed ads in community papers across the country asking people if they ever had someone close to them die and appear to them in a dream. Over three hundred people responded and 120 stories are in the book, including my own personal story.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: Research provides newfound comfort to surviving Loved Ones in Special Dream and this is the only book in the marketplace that identifies this specific type of dream experience.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: It was one of the winners of the 2008 Beach Book Festival in Atlantic City, NJ.

Answer: Women who like intelligent chick lit, and anyone interested in spirituality.

Q: What is the book about?
A: “If the spirit of a loving wife can’t nudge her husband in the right direction, who can?” So thinks 30-something Judith McBride, a Jewish control freak with an unlikely last name. When she dies in a medical mishap, she calls on her supernatural status to “rescue” her widowed spouse from the sexy clutches of their gold-digging, thrill-seeking blonde accountant, with surprising results.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I don’t believe that question is as germane to fiction as it is to nonfiction. After all, isn’t each novelist the best person to write his/her particular story? In my case, I can say that I am the perfect person to write a novel set in the afterlife and narrated by the spirit of a dead woman because I began with no preconceived notions. Jewish dogma contains very little about the afterlife because the religion’s focus is on what we do in our earthly lives. With Remote Control, I had the opportunity to create my idea of “heaven” and “hell” that simultaneously respects readers of any religion or no religion. Spirituality and religion are not necessarily the same thing.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: Remote Control is one of maybe a handful of published novels dealing with our spiritual life. Probably the best-known are literary novels Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Remote Control is in a category by itself because its thought-provoking issues are told in a humorous voice. The comic aspect of the story isn’t intended to satirize the concept of life after death; it simply addresses it in a more contemporary context.

Another distinguishing feature of Remote Control is the game I like to play with my readers. Both Remote Control and my historical novel Far Above Rubies have real, famous, historical figures included in the text but not mentioned by name. It’s fun to see if readers pick up on the clues written into the story. I also provide a discussion guide at the end of Remote Control to guide readers in their search. The book has one “puzzle” that I hadn’t planned on: a typographical error in a proper name that by its very existence contradicts the sentence’s meaning. It’s not nearly as complicated as it sounds, and it’s quite funny, once you find it.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Although I categorize Remote Control as chick lit, don’t assume it’s all trash and no treasure. I like to call it “lit for the thinking chick” because behind the wise-cracking protagonist and often comedic situations lie evocative questions about life, death, mourning, and our very selves that every one of us eventually face. Humor and enlightenment aren’t mutually exclusive.

Remote Control is available through all the normal channels of book acquisition, and can be special ordered from any bookstore. To see if your local library has it, check their website or ask a librarian. Book clubs who order 5 or more books directly from publisher Echelon Press receive a 25% discount. I am happy to participate in book club discussions, whether by phone or in person. Answer: The Ezekiel Code – a metaphysical, mystery, adventure thriller – is intended for general audiences from teen to adult and especially those who enjoy the kind of stories told in books and movies like National Treasure, Indiana Jones, The DaVinci Code, The Celestine Prophecy, TheThe X-Files, and even The Matrix and The Thirteenth Floor. If you’re a fan of any of the above then this book’s for you!

Q: What is the book about?
A: Zeke Banyon, a Catholic seminary dropout, runs a large homeless shelter in Seattle’s old waterfront district. Angela Martin, an attractive young anthropology student, comes to work for him as his assistant. Together, they stumble upon a strange kind of code and a cryptic note tucked inside an old book that contains a little known story about an artifact known as the Lost Scroll of Ezekiel. They also discover the mystery involves an ancient prophecy about a catastrophic event that would end all life on our planet. Surprisingly, they also discover this prophecy has a curious tie to the Mayan calendar that will end on December 21, 2012. They find themselves in a race against time to figure out the code and what it means. What they don’t know, but soon discover, is that powerful people – a group of rogue Jesuit priests and agents of the secretive Illuminati, hell-bent on establishing a New World Order – are watching their every move. The action carries Banyon and Angela from Seattle to New York and then to a mysterious little village in the South of France and eventually to a point in the Antarctic Ocean where all the mysteries, trials, twists, and tribulations encountered over the course of many months come to a spectacular down-to-the-last-second climax and a dramatic conclusion.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: The idea for the book came to me during a conversation with a friend in an all-night diner back around 1997. We were talking about how the first part of the book of Ezekiel in the Bible could be easily interpreted as an encounter with an extraterrestial craft, possibly from another dimension of time and space. My first thought was that the idea would make a great movie project for someone like Steven Spielberg. Then it occurred to me that I could write it as a novel. Having spent years studying and researching a wide range of esoteric subjects, as well as having written several feature articles on related subjects for FATE Magazine I certainly felt qualified to take on the project. But what really makes me the best person to write this book is that the plot device (the “code”, if you will) that drives the story from beginning to end is actually based on my real-life work exporing the possibility that the English alphabet is somehow encoded in such a way that it can be used as a system of gematria (a form of “sacred numerology”, for lack of a better term) as developed and practiced by the Greek and Hebrew priests and mystics of ancient times. Much of what appears in the book was actually derived from the well of data that my work has produced. So, really – now that I think about it – no one else could have written The Ezekiel Code. Apparently destiny chose me for the job.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: There are a few other novels out there that deal with the issue of 2012 and the end of the Mayan calendar. The Ezekiel Code differs from them considerably because of the unique plot device (the “code” mentioned above) that drives the story. It’s all drawn directly from my personal research and development of an English-based system of gematria. This whole idea will be new and unfamiliar to most readers but it’s also completely new and unfamiliar to the two heros in the story too! Believe me, they are totally clueless when their very normal lives are turned upside down by this mystery that suddenly confronts them. Their task is to figure it all out. So the reader can just sit back and go along for the ride because Banyon and Angela do all the work!

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: “2012 is coming…The clock is ticking…The code must be deciphered…And only one man can save the planet…If he can just figure out how before it’s too late.”

“Synchronicity at its best! A WOW of a read!”
Answer: Secret of the Sands is suitable for kids and adults, anyone ages 12 & up. It’s got the fun, silly, light-hearted aspects of movies like The Mummy and Indiana Jones series, paired with deep, underlying meaning & messages…Our intent in writing the story was to make it accessible to a wide audience, in the same way our favorite stories and movies are. If your kids liked Harry Potter – then they can certainly read our story.

Q: What is the book about?
A: Secret of the Sands is a mystery novel exploring the origins of ancient Egypt, a pre-pharaonic time, and it has a dual, intertwining storyline between Egypt’s past & present… For 12,000 years a dark and deadly secret has been hidden deep below the Great Sphinx of Giza. In present day Egypt, a frightening, yet awe-inspiring story unravels as archaeologists race against time to decipher an ancient truth…

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: My co-author and I have been fascinated by ancient Egypt since we were small children. We also share
a love of epic stories, so much so we had to create one of our own. In addition, I (Rai) was a member of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities for many years and I have taken two (non-credit) university courses in Egyptology. Further, I have always held certain beliefs about the Great Sphinx of Giza. That coupled with a program I saw on The Discovery Channel many years ago, where they were talking about how the actual age/origin of the Great Sphinx is still a topic of debate today, fueled my fire to write this story.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: It has a dual intertwining storyline throughout the novel – as mysteries are discovered in present-day Egypt, a window to the past opens and the reader learns the origins of the mysterious artifacts. Each jump back in time sheds more light on the present and the truth of the discovery. In addition, this story presents an alternate (fictional) historical account of ancient Egyptian history. Our book touches on many speculations out there today…

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: It is a repeated Amazon.com Bestseller in the category of “Books, Religion & Spirituality, Fiction”. We are also in the process of making Hollywood connections to have it made into a feature film one day. Filmmakers – give us a call, we have a future summer blockbuster for you!

Answer: The intended audience for Embrace Ultra-Ability is conscious people who seek spiritually rich and rewarding lives, whose desires for goodness span more than self-interest. They want to embrace spirituality to not only love the lives they live but to make a positive difference to fellow creations.

The readers are spiritual to start with and want to embrace more. They are truly serious in using spirituality to bring more good to themselves and others. True self-empowerment starts within, so they have to have the desire deep in their hearts before they can expand on their spirituality to achieve greatness.

People with disabilities and health conditions will also find this book of interest. It will lift their spirits and make them see their limitations not as roadblocks but as exercising machines for their spirits. Their perception and attitude toward life will brighten, and that, in turn, will brighten their future and touch others in wonderful ways.

Q: What is the book about?
A: How would you like to turn your disability into ultra-ability to welcome a truly fulfilling life? This book gently yet powerfully empowers you to accept the wondrous jewels God abundantly offers and helps you use the gifts wisely. Readers will learn how to create an essential spiritual foundation for a truly successful life, limit their limitations to achieve greatness, maximize time usage and avoid time wasters, effectively conquer and prepare for challenges and negativity, win with positivity, establish and go for their gold medals in life.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I am a blind and physically disabled individual who has overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges by embracing a life of spiritual riches. Coming out of fiery oceans and thorny jungles as a winner, I will be able not only tell but show readers effective ways to overcome everyday challenges. I am a living proof what real success is all about–what life is all about–and how to achieve true happiness. Who else is a better person to write about winning and overcoming all odds than a victor who has climbed high mountains and crossed deep oceans?

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: This book is different from other books in this subject area mainly because it was written, formatted, and published by a blind and physically disabled person, whose own experiences serve as inspiration throughout the book. All the topics covered in Embrace Ultra-Ability! come from the author’s own life experiences. She has been there, done that, and she knows what is effective for true bliss and what you should stay far away from.

This book is also written from a devout Christian’s perspective, and therefore, touches upon the importance of faith in God. The author owes her successes and happiness to God, and all the treasures He has abundantly bestowed upon her. Yet, her invincible faith and Christian mentions in this book will not deter people of other faiths from still embracing her messages of essential values and enjoying her lyrical but powerful writing.

Q: Is there anything else We Should Know About This Book?
A: Embrace Ultra-Ability! is a finalist in the 2008 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the Motivational category.

Embrace Ultra-Ability! has received many 5-star reviews, including the following:

“If there is ever to be a poster person for people with ultra-abilities, it would have to be twenty-four-year-old Shirley Cheng. The author has turned her disabilities into an ultra-ability and written the awe-inspiring Embrace Ultra-Ability! Cheng’s slim but power-packed motivational guide delivers what it promises with its wisdom, insights, and motivation. It is a volume to be read, re-read, and treasured for its originality, readability, and courageous approach to dealing with life’s adversities, and from an individual who has had far more than her fair share of them.

“Cheng is a first-class role model for taking the cards one is dealt in life and turning them into a winning hand.

“With typical humility she refers to her volume as only a basic guidebook. But it is a guidebook full of sage advice, helpful exercises, common sense analyses, and tough love prescriptions…” –M. Wayne Cunningham, ForeWord CLARION Reviews

“each teenager should be given this book in high school as a basis from which to build their values, morals and gratitude toward life. I honor her endurance and envy her strength.” –Trish Lay, Life/Leadership Coach, Speaker, Author

“a powerful book that demonstrates a spiritual insight I have not seen in a person as young as she is. I highly recommend this book for those seeking ways to embrace every aspect of their lives and develop them to serve others.” -Rowena Holloway, Ordained Lay Minister, Speaker, Co-Author of the Pray it Forward Trilogy

“…very effective and empowering in teaching positive affirmations, self-confidence, self-love and true sight.” –Dorothy Lafrinere, WomensSelfEsteem.com

“Shirley Cheng’s vibrant prose refreshes the soul. Her positive message of hope and love has universal appeal.” –The Rebecca Review, Top Ten Amazon.com Reviewer

Answer: Senior Citizens, baby boomers, children who are caregivers for their parents, and caregivers who work with seniors.

Q: What is the book about?
A: This book and its predecessor Senior Moments Are self help guides to lead senior citizens through both the good and the difficult days of the aging process. The book is filled with stories and positive suggestions that provide solutions to problems common to seniors. It encourages seniors to follow their doctor’s advice and to work with their caretakers to improve their health and living conditions. Depression, loneliness, loss of independence, chronic illness, pain, and poor self image are common problems discussed in the book. Seniors are urged to accept the challenges of aging.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: I spent 48 years working as a teacher, school administrator, and family and grief counselor and over the years worked with countless senior citizens. I have been a counselor for seniors in my community for the past eight years. I also took care of my wife’s mother and father and saw them through their aging years. I am seventy eight year old man, so I have an understanding of the problems that accompany aging.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: This book is unique in that it was written by a senior for seniors. Many of the books on this subject are written by younger people with a PHD, but who have never worked with seniors. One senior woman’s comment stays in my mind, “At last. A book for seniors written by someone who has been there and done that.”

This book is different from other similar books in that it also deals with spirituality for seniors. The book is not a book on religion, but there are reference to the power of spirituality and prayer in our lives. It talks about the good days and the bad days, and is positive in its approach to life. This book was also a finalist in the National Best Books 2007 Award.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: The book is filled with much self help wisdom. It contains both serious and humorous stories that illustrate positive attitudes for seniors to emulate, and is filled with much useful information focusing on a board range of senior problems. More Senior Moments is available most online stores such as Amazon.com and Outskirtspress.com. It can also be purchased by your local book store if it is not on the shelf.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: Because I have been studying spirituality and science for over 30 years. Because I believe that rational thought and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. Because I have the ability to clearly explain spirituality in language people understand, and make it real.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
This book takes a simple scientific principle –– that atoms are essentially vibrational in nature –– and develops an uplifting and common–sense explanation for why life is the way it is.

Answer: This book is intended for young adults, adults, Pastors, and lay persons in support of missions. Walking Man inspires and affirms commitments to foreign missions.

Q: What is the book about?
A: Walking Man is the odyssey of Narciso Zamora’s winding and treacherous path toward finding his calling in missions. Trekking with the Gospel over the mountains and through the jungles of Ecuador, Peru and Chile, often walking for days to reach an isolated settlement of a few families, Zamora’s is a story of Christian triumph in a literal journey of not just a thousand miles, but 10,000 miles.

Q: Why are you the best person to write this book?
A: Well, I walked it! I have worked in this field for over 30 years and have so many stories to tell that the only logical thing to do was to write a book about the wonders that Jesus has done in my life. This book is a living example of how God can change dramatically someone’s life. I know first hand the challenges that a missionary has to deal with and sharing my experiences can not only encourage others to work, but to act as a manual for someone wanting to get involved in the field.

Q: How is this book different from other books on this topic?
A: This book offers a real life example of what it is to be a missionary and what it takes to be one. My background is so humble and my resources have always been so meager, that if I can do what I’ve done, then, with God’s help, anyone can become a missionary. This book allows me to share my successes and struggles and all of those experiences that have shaped me as a person.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about this book?
A: Author proceeds and a significant portion of publisher proceeds go to fund my newest missions project, a school in Cajamarca, Peru to train Latin Americans for the mission field on their own continent.
